What Can we do for you?

Overview

We’re all about improving your business efficiency through the more effective use of technology.

Everything we do centres on working with you to help you realise business benefit from your investment in technology. Whether that be making your existing website attract more enquiries or more sales, helping to define your website requirements in the first place or helping you to build a business using technology as the driver.

Business Process

This is where any web project should start; unfortunately much of our work is fixing problems that should never have arisen in the first place. If we are able to sit down with you, discuss your business and where you want to go with that business, we can then advise on how technology could help and develop a road-map towards technical nirvana!

Think of your e-business strategy as a block of flats. Now you know that what you want is going to be 20 storeys high, but at the moment you only need the ground floor. If the developer knows this in the first place they can build the foundations so that extra storeys can be added with little heartache.

“Most people ask their developers to build a bungalow and then ask them to add additional levels – the result is a very unstable and often disastrous structure”

What we’ll do is ensure that everything is included in your first brief, so that you have a road map for the future.

Here are just some of the things to consider:

  1. What browsers are your customers using?
  2. What screen resolution is important?
  3. Have you taken in to account the needs of the disabled and the latest Disability Discrimination legislation?
  4. What technology is the site to be built in and what is the effect of building it that way

Business Strategy

“Business first, Technology second”

We don’t apologise for repeating ourselves, you can do pretty much anything with technology, but if you haven’t got a sustainable business plan, the fanciest technology doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. The technology must work for you, not you for the technology.

What we do is we’ll spend time either discussing your strategy or formulating one. We will then assess what technology you currently have and report back, firstly on whether the technology you have will allow you to go where you want to go and secondly can suggest ways that technology may ease this process by allowing you to work smarter not harder. In most instances we can achieve administrative/ duplication of effort cost savings in the region of half – one man year, through the application of appropriate technology.

Just consider – a 2004 report from IDC (Proving the value of Content Technologies” study) found that the average business will spend 3.8 hours per week reformatting documents, 3.5 hours a week searching for information, 3 hours re-creating content, and 2.3 hours acquiring archived documents. We see many cases where the business has been built on a number of excel spreadsheets, which over time have, “multiplied” and much of the time in the organisation is spent feeding this database beast. In one particular organisation that had this problem and had acquired 40 Excel spreadsheets, used by 15 staff, we managed to save them, by suggesting restructuring the data in to one easily accessible format, one and a half man years of administration!

So think on in your organisation, even if you're using technology already, is it as efficient as it could be? Does it support you or do you support it? And will it continue to support you in the future?
